25 Years of Macintosh

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Macintosh. Born at a time when there were multiple computer platforms competing for market share, the Macintosh survived the rise of the Wintel platform in the 1990’s. The Mac tried to maintain a separate hardware platform but eventually adopted the Intel architecture in 2005. My first Mac was the SE/30, which has been voted by Macworld magazine as the the best Mac ever.

Today, MacOS and Linux stand as the only viable operating system alternatives to Microsoft. I am fortunate to be using Apple computers as my primary computer for work and home since high school.
