Small Victories

The EFF is reporting these two events on the fight to keep our fair use rights:

  • The MPAA has engaged in illegal copying of movies under the pretense of protecting families, while equally valid reasons for consumers would be criminalized if the MPAA had its way.
  • Senate hearings on the RIAA broadcast flag quickly illustrated their stupidity and shortsightedness. Things we take for granted now (recording, editing of material for personal private use) would be illegal if the RIAA ever gets their way.

I’m looking forward to more of the Senate hearings to see both cartels implode and die.
