Weekend in The City

Good morning from San Francisco, probably the only city where the homeless are richer than many of the non-homeless.

It’s the day before Macworld Expo, so I’m just hanging around various coffee shops, enjoying free wireless access, since the weather is not cooperating. Unlike previous Macworlds, this one promises to be very cold and wet. Those coming in from warmer areas better bring coats, scarves, and umbrellas. I have never felt this kind of cold in the Bay Area, even while in college.

Over the weekend, a fun time was had in Berkeley and Oakland – a dim sum lunch, walking around the Cal campus (go Bears!), and a simple dinner at La Vals southside, where the guy serving drinks was the same guy I had to deal with during my college days back in the 80’s. A micro-reunion with old college buddies sure beats stressful and unpleasant ones.

The culinary link for this week is a list of San Francisco’s best sushi restaurants.
